A posthumous edition of William Perkins's commentary on the first five chapters of Paul's Epistle to the Galatians, printed at London by John Legatt, Printer to the University of Cambridge, in 1607. The work was composed by Perkins (1558–1602), the influential Puritan theologian and fellow of Christ's College, Cambridge, and is continued with a supplement on the sixth chapter by Ralph Cudworth. The commentary proceeds verse by verse, offering Reformed doctrinal exposition and practical application.

Commentary on Galatians 6:6

Ralph Cudworth's commentary on Galatians 6:6 — "Let him that is taught in the word, make him that hath taught him partaker of all his goods" — from his continuation of Perkins's exposition of the Epistle. The section treats the verse as an apostolic rule for the maintenance of the ministry, examining the meanings of "taught in the word," "him that teacheth," and "communicate." It argues from scripture, natural law, and civil law that congregations are bound to provide a sufficient and liberal allowance for their ministers, condemning those who withhold support or strip the Church of her revenues.
