Peter Auriol's commentary on the fourth book of Peter Lombard's Sentences, covering the sacraments. Originally lectured at Paris c. 1316–1318 as part of Auriol's broader Scriptum super Sententias, the fourth-book commentary engages the standard sacramental questions of scholastic theology — baptism, confirmation, eucharist, penance, extreme unction, orders, and matrimony — with Auriol's characteristic critical rigor, particularly in dialogue with Scotus. This 1605 edition was printed at Rome by Aloisio Zannetti under the patronage of the Societas Bibliopolarum Urbis, dedicated to Francesco di Bel Gioioso, Commissary General of the Friars Minor Observant, and issued superiorum permissu.

Peter Auriol's commentary on Distinction 25 of Book IV of Peter Lombard's Sentences, which treats those receiving and conferring the sacrament of orders. Auriol poses three questions: first, whether bishops alone can minister the sacrament of orders; second, whether simony is a vice directly opposed to justice — working through the tripartite classification of spiritual things (sanctifying grace, freely given grace, and temporal emoluments annexed to spiritual offices), the three modes of simoniacal exchange (by word, by service, and by money), and concluding that exchanging sacraments for temporal goods is against justice as well as against religion, since it renders saleable what nature ordains to be given freely; third, whether the Pope can commit simony in any case.
