William of Auxerre's Summa aurea in quattuor libros Sententiarum, an early scholastic systematic theology composed in the 1220s and arranged as a commentary on the four books of Peter Lombard's Sentences. Simony is treated in Book III in connection with the sacrament of orders. This editio princeps was printed at Paris by Philippe Pigouchet for the booksellers Nicolas Vaultier and Durand Gerlier on 3 April 1500, edited by the theologian Guillermus de Quercu, who also added the alphabetical index that follows the main text. This copy is from the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, Munich.
