Commentary on the Fourth Book of Peter Lombard's Sentences by Richard of Middleton (Ricardus de Mediavilla, c. 1249–c. 1308), Franciscan theologian. This 1591 Brescia edition, printed by Vincentius Sabbius, was prepared by Ludovico Silvestrio of Sant'Angelo in Vado, who collated earlier editions, corrected errors, and added conclusions and cross-references to each question. Book IV covers the sacraments, ordination, matrimony, penance, and last things.

Richard of Middleton's commentary on Distinction 25 of Book IV of Peter Lombard's Sentences, which addresses ordinations performed by heretics and simoniacs. The commentary proceeds through articles and questions: Article I asks whether a non-episcopal priest can ordain; Articles II–III treat simony directly — defining it, asking whether simoniacal ordinations are valid, and examining the different modes (gift of hand, tongue, and service); subsequent articles address canonical impediments to ordination including irregular clerics, heretical bishops, and age requirements.
